• Sitting in the therapist’s chair and listening to people beat themselves up and not understand where their negative self talk originates makes me sad. Once I have explained to them that in childhood their parents and other adult caregivers refused to accept them as they were.

This meant they wanted them to be different in some way, less busy, less talkative, more quiet, less shy, more friendly and the list is endless. The end product are adults who neither knows or likes themselves or both.

Let’s focus this week on where we may be practicing self rejection.

❤️‍🩹 You were never the problem or not enough as you were as a child.

❤️‍🩹 Your parents were replaying and repeating an unconscious intergenerational pattern.

❤️‍🩹 It’s not your fault but it’s now your responsibility to heal and change the pattern in order to change your life.

❤️‍🩹 Keep believing you deserve better, because it’s true and you are worthy as you are, not only when you meet their needs.

      Love always 🖤
